Description
Father's Serra's Landing Place the First Mass, attributed to Léon Trousset (1838-1917). A depiction of Junípero Serra celebrating Mass in Monterey, California on 3 June 1770.
Depicts Father Serra at the altar surrounded by the members of the Gaspar de Portolà expedition.
The altar is placed beneath the Vizcaíno-Serra Oak by a small creek that now bears the name Serra Creek. Near the Presidio of Monterey.
