S P Baldwin Class T-26 Ten Wheel steam locomotive No. 2285 Southern Pacific Company
Train No. 87 Del Monte Special which ran from San Francisco to Monterey, Pacific Grove, Calif. circa 1915
It began service to Pacific Grove depot, California on June 25, 1890. It ran until April 30, 1971.

Hathaway established California Views on November 29, 1970 and was located in historic Monterey, on the California Central Coast, this unique photo archive is the most comprehensive Historical Photo Collection of the Monterey Bay area in existence. After the sudden passing passing of Mr. Hathaway in January 2021, the Monterey County Historical Society became the beneficiary of his collection. Pat Hathaway and California Views are names that have become synonymous with Monterey History and historical images of the California central coast.
